Does anyone know how you can find out which other countries sell which type of fuels, and especially if you happen to know what fuel you can buy in Slovenia?
Id hate to put a stove in my case and then find I cant buy any compatible fuel for it!!
Thanks!! |

| | | Re: buying camping stove fuels in other countries alternately get a trangia - meths is pretty easy to come by, and if you cant find it you can use standard alcohol (which is available nearly everywhere except in the muslim countries of course).
its probably the safest use for some of the spirits you'll encounter in slovenia - considerably safer than drinking them

| | | Re: buying camping stove fuels in other countries Thanks Eeyore,
My parents have a trangia which I might be able to borrow, Ive not used one before is it easy enough to get the hang of cooking on it?
What do you mean, poor quality alcohol? Thats the main reason Im going! |

| | | Re: buying camping stove fuels in other countries dead easy - you just puth the meths/alcohol in - wait a couple of seconds for it to warm and vapour to start and then apply a match
(if youve waited too long you then hop about on one foot gooing ohh ohh ohh with your singed fingers in your mouth)
then you use the sauce pan handle to drop the open lid/air regulator over the flame and jobs a good un
when you've finished cooking you close the air regulator (with the handle) and wait for it to go out
