| | | What is a good make of rucksack? I am looking for a new rucksack for walking, around 25 - 30 litres. I have a fantastic Timberland one that I use for work and it really suits me very well. I'm not sure how they made it so comfortable to wear; it seems to carry the load for you. Are there any other makes of rucksack that people can recommend? I'm looking for something very well made.
Of course, I could try for a Timberland one again, but I want another make for walking really. I already have 5 pairs of trainers, all the same. I want to "diversify" with my bags.

Features are a top flap pocket for maps notebook etc, key holder, pull-out rain-cover, two expandable side pockets with compression straps, loops for walking poles, inside the top flap is a secure zipped pocket for valuables, hydration pocket for hydration bladder and outlet for tube and two bottle pouches.
The shoulder straps are really comfortable and also has a nice hip belt. On the shoulder strap, you can clip on a gps and the best feature, I think it the ventilating back system.
I do have other rucksacks such as Karrimor, but the Berghaus outshines it on features. |

I'll look into both of these makes.

| | | Re: What is a good make of Rucksack? Thanks Dave. Yes, I'll have to try some for size, although it has to be multi-person, as we share the load, so to speak.
It'll be a bit of an investment, so I'm going to quietly take my time deciding.

| | | Re: What is a good make of Rucksack? Hello Deb, I do quite a lot of walking and have tried three or four different makes of rucksack over the years. I currently have two Osprey sacks, one is the Manta 25 (long) a relatively small sack that comes complete with a hydration bladder. I tend to use this for day walks and cycling trips. The other is the Atmos 35 (long) which I tend to use for multi day walks were more kit is required. I have to say these rucksacks are in my opinion top quality and very comfortable to carry for long periods, in saying that they are not cheap. You can check them out here Outdoor - Osprey Packs, Inc :2011: Official Site Best of luck with your search.
