| | | London tent camping? Is there such a thing? I want to do some urban hiking and would like to tent camp close to london somewhere. If I would need to catch the train to find some place, that would work. thanks |

| | | Re: London tent camping? I stayed in a camp site that was very near Epping Forest as I was attending a course at the FSC centre. From there apparantly easy access to London, as I am not from that region I can only take thier word for it. I hope this is of some small help. It was a very friendly place, busy and clean. |

| | | Re: London tent camping? There is a camp site near Crystal Palace. Was good and clean when I was there .. tho that is now some years ago. It depends how close to the center you need to be. Has the benefit of at least one Tawny Old.

| | | Re: London tent camping? As mentioned, the Lea Valley is good because you can walk down the valley into east London or 'turn right' at Tottenham and go across north London or into the City. There are plenty of green corridors across north or east London.
An alternative, just outside London but easily accessible (and a lot less polluted) is in Epping Forest at Debden House Debden Campsite - Attraction this is convenient to get into Londn by tube or 'bus but virtually in Epping Forest (England's largest semi-natural woodland) - there are other sites around the Forest but less convenient for London. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
