Cycling the Coast to Coast 2011

As you may already know from a previous thread, I have a Coast to Coast Bike Ride planned sometime next month, cycling from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay via the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors.

I'm cycling the route in 4 days and will be about 200 miles in total. I've got a blog set up and do take a look, the route I'm taking is on there.

I will have a video cam set up on the handlebars and hope to have the video on YouTube, ofcause there will be photos and a day-by-day report.

I had originally had the bright idea of mountain biking the C2C, but I've decided to knock that one on the head. The mountain bike is not suitable touring bike.

Anyway, I've been looking over the maps and seeing I've fortnight's holiday in August, I hit the idea (again) on a double Coast to Coast. I reckon about 10/12 days, joining up NCN routes (Sustrans) This saves the chew on with trains and saving money too.

The route is just about sorted and looking like this.

Stockton - Middleton in Teesdale - Stanhope - Edmundbyers - Hexham - Greenhead - Carlisle - Bowness on Solway - Silloth - Whitehaven - St. Bees - Keswick - Pooley Bridge - Shap - Kirkby Stephen - Tan Hill - Keld - Hawes - Grinton - Richmond - Osmotherley - Helmsley - Pickering - Scarborough - Ravenscar - Whitby - Saltburn by the Sea.

Pretty impressive I would say, probably about 500 -700 miles, but total miles in not confirmed as yet.
