| | | A Coast to Coast Walk in Reverse. It will come at no surprise that, I've decided to do the Coast to Coast walk next year, doing it from east to west.
I was supposed to of done it this year from east to west, but somehow it was a west to east crossing.
The last time, I did the east to west crossing was in 1992 and I guess it's high time I did it again.
Sadly the 2 week cycling trip is going to be scrapped, but hoping to do some week-end cycling-camping next spring and summer. However, I will be still doing the coast to coast cycle ride, which will be now a double crossing using the trekking bike and not the mountain bike as originally planned. also, the route is going to on tarmac roads and not over the lakeland passes.
Anyway, I've a blog set-up and will be using that to post anything on there.
Crazy to think, this is my 7th crossing and why not, I just simply love it.
Again, I'm camping and have worked out my walking itinerary, which is 13 days. I may use the odd youth hostel esq Grasmere, that was super.
Datewise, that is something, I need to decide. But it would be nice to have a fortnight in August on my birthday, that if planned rightly, I would finish the coast to coast on the 10th, my birthday. |

| | | Re: A Coast to Coast Walk in Reverse. Thank you, Farplace.
Thankfully I've got all the gear I need, so I will save some money there and the boots I had worn this year are nicely broken in, but looking a bit battered to say the least.
With the VAT increase to 20% next year, I will need to check the gear list and refresh any items I need. I was looking at some Berghaus Paclite over trousers, bit pricey, so will have to make do with the Paramo Fuera over trousers which I can re-proof if needed and these have pockets unlike the Paclite.
I will probably post a day by day itinerary at sometime.
I had a nice idea last night, about starting the walk at Redcar and walking the Teesdale Way as far as Middleton in Teesdale, then use the Pennine Way path to Keld and connect with the coast to coast path. But, I need to check out the path if there is any suitable camp-sites between Stockton on Tees to Middleton in Teessdale. On the other hand, I would like to start the walk at Saltburn by the Sea and save a day, instead of Robin Hood's Bay, but early days yet. |

| | | Re: A Coast to Coast Walk in Reverse. I'm most likely not to post much on here atm, However, I have a blog set up, so you can have a look at that and will be adding posts from time to time.
I will be off the forum for a few months. However, after the new year, I will be starting my training for the Coast to Coast. Most of it will be along the coast between Saltburn and Skinningrove and if the weather is right, I will be hoping get to Whitby from Saltburn, about 20 miles.
So, probably add some details on that, if I do. |

| | | Re: A Coast to Coast Walk in Reverse. It may be now, I might be shelving the Coast to Coast and instead do some cycle touring. The Coast to Coast walk is one I would like to do, but after walking it in 2007, 2009 and this year plus having to do the training beforehand, that I've decided a 2 week cycling tour would be better in the best option.
I know I change my mind like the west wind, but I've still have that cycle tour map on the bedroom room which the route is highlighted.
Oh hum |

I think at the back of my mind, I did want to walk the C2C. If I do it, it will be east to west. |
