| | | Walk near Ware, Herts, with a detour to the Amwell NR dragonfly walk. We had a lovely Saturday afternoon stroll near Ware in Herts last week. I'd recommend it for a variety of habitats and wildlife, friendly folk and pleasant scenery. The walk was about 3 mile long without the detour. This is the map: Quote: | Map key and notes: Start with space for a couple of cars. Detour to Amwell NR. The reserve itself. The dragonfly walk (closes end Sept). Stretch of road with no formal footpath between the red markers. Some nice wild plums are to be found near the green tree symbol. |

I don't know East Herts. much, so I'll give your walk a try in the near future.

I don't know whether this is a 'politically correct' thing to add, but Amwell NR has a distinct lack of 'facilities'. If you integrate your visit into this walk or similar, you can get off the beaten track more. Many a visit to Amwell has been cut short, if you get my drift.
Jim, it's alright, don't waste your time with ' and '. Plain old Deb will do since that is my name. Or whatever suits.
Elaine, if you join Google, then you can do these maps. I'm just learning. If you then link to Google maps, you can add pictures, video, all sorts. But there is too much personal info. on my Google account, so I just took a screen shot, and added the key. It's fun, if you like that sort of thing.

| | | Re: Walk near Ware, Herts, with a detour to the Amwell NR dragonfly walk. I got the idea from Pete's brill walking web site. I like a challenge. There is this kid that takes you through the tutorial on Google - I hate to be beaten by a kid.
