| | | Superfeet footwear insoles Hello. Does anyone use Superfeet footwear insoles? If so, what do you make of them? I've met a couple of folk recently raving about them and Superfeet's website certainly markets them well!
In the past I have suffered from I.T.B.S (persistent pain in the outside of my knee) and wondered if these might prevent a future flare up.

ike you, I suffer with an acute pain on the outside of my right knee which the medical profession cannot cure or find a cause.
I have no knowledge of Superfeet insoles but bought two pairs of Montrail insoles earlier this year to alleviate this problem. These have to warmed in an oven to a certain temperature for a specific time, placed in the boot and then stood on with the normal walking socks to mould the insole.
I've just warn them over a three week period on some rough terrain and they have helped the knee problem.
They have a nylon reinforced instep and a heel shock protector area. I swap them between boots as and when needed.
If you or anyone decides to purchase these, take heed as to the temperature needed. The instructions state degrees Fahrenheit so do not absentmindedly turn your oven temperature control to the equivalent in Centigrade as I did - hence the second pair bought. |

| | | Re: Superfeet footwear insoles I've been using superfeet for about 7 years now and I can't recommend them highly enough. As soon as I buy new walking boots, I buy a pair of superfeet to go in them.
I used to suffer with excruciating pain in my hips when walking for more than about 30 minutes, since I started using the superfeet the pain has gone, and went within the first 24 hours I used them. They put your heelbone into the correct position which in turn aligns your ankles, knees and hips correctly.
it's worth going to somewhere like Blacks or Tiso who have staff members trained in fitting them properly when you first start to use them. They're not cheap, but they're worth every penny.
Regards, Audrey. |

Regards, Audrey. | Wow, endorsement indeed. I'm very close to a trip to the shops! Having looked at their website, it seems that the green ones are most suitable for walkers, am I correct?

Chris | I use the green ones, but it depends how flat your feet are, amongst other things. That's why I'd recommend going somewhere with trained staff, for the first couple of pairs at least, they should be able to sort you out with the best ones for your individual circumstances. I think blue or green are best for walking boots, the others are for court shoes or normal everyday shoes.

The green ones particularly change the heel cup fit quite a bit, so may not work well on all footwear, I can't put greens in my work shoes for example and so have a black pair for those.
I use them on pretty much all my footwear though, greens or blacks. I've suffered with Plantar Fasciitis for a number of years and whilst the Superfeet have not cured it, they do keep it under control pretty well and I do get noticeably more pain if I go without the Superfeet even for a just a day. |

My favourite trick is to leave the polystyrene base on a pizza

Seriously I like the sound of these - I can feel a visit to go outdoors coming on as my back, knee and hip pain has been worsening for many years (I know I should lose some weight .... I know) but I think I might try a pair of these ready for Clumber then perhaps I won't be needing my mate and champion to find me a log esp to sit on cos everyone has noticed how cream crackered and lagging behind I was ....... !!

| | | Re: Superfeet footwear insoles I saw these Superfeet soles in Go-Outdoors, but saw the price, I backed off.
I used to and sometimes still do, but not for while, suffer from painful knee joints. Nowadays, I eat plenty of cheese and fish.
When I did the 17 mile on Sunday gone, I wish i had them walking poles to aid me along.
Although, I had my Scarpa trainer's on. I felt fine, but a blister came on.
God help me on my Coast to Coast walk. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
