Hi,

I noticed this old post and thought I'd keep it going a little longer...

I'm in the market for my first pair of treking boots and have almost settled on the Meindl Borneo Pro Boot.

I found them particularly comfortable compared to the many other brands of boot I've tried.

My main question is is there anyone that has had a pair of Meindl Borneo and the similar Meindl Burma boots? The obvious difference between the two boots is the Burma's lining is made of Gortex, but is there any arguments for considering the Burma boot other than the so called benefit of Gortex. I'm not completely sold on Gortex - people seem to rate a product on whether it is made from it or not. From my understanding, through care and maintenance the Borneo's can be kept satisfactorily watertight - without the Gortex lining.

Also, I've read some critical comments in recent years posts of the wear in the internal stitching which has deteriorated after minimal use. Has anyone experienced any such issues?
