| | | Campsites around Edinburgh and Nottingham Hi!
It's Anne from the Netherlands, who's going to visit the UK in a few days!
Now, my friend and I want to explore Edingburgh, Nottingham and some other cities. I was browsing the web for affordable (students...) campsites for a tent and what I've found so far are a lot of caravan parks. What I'm looking for are campsites with some more nature and just the basic accomodations. We really want to enjoy nature. You know, a farmer who has an acre left and allows backpackers to stay (although we have a car to park).
A campsite in a village nearby is excellent too, if we can take public transportation to the city's.
I hope you guys can inform me and point out the 'hidden' places, because Google can't!
Thanks in advance,
Anne |

I'm from the Derby area and we regularly go camping up in the Peak District. Rowter Farm in Castleton is quite nice and basic with views over to Mam Tor.
Haddon grove campsite in Lathkilldale (near Bakewell which is worth a visit) its also out in the countryside and next to a reserve with some good walks from there. We havent been to either this year but did go quite alot last year, they do both get quite busy at times with groups so it maybe worth googling them to get the numbers to see how available they are.
I cant think of any sites that are particularly near to Derby, but if you wanted to visit the city its probably only an hour in the car from either site.
Hope thats of use.
