| | | Re: Pauline & Ian's Cairngorms March 2010 You've got some lovely shots Pauline, the Pine Marten is absolutely gorgeous. I enjoyed reading about what you did as well, even though it brings back memories of all the snow and ice, and the freezing wind that day at Chanonry, it also reminds me of the lovely chat we had and the Dolphins we saw.
It just proves that even in the most inhospitable of conditions, there is wildlife about if you've got the knowledge, and patience, to find it. Even though the snow is coming down again today, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Mind you, we're forecast another foot of snow over the hills tonight and tomorrow. |

| | | Re: Pauline & Ian's Cairngorms March 2010 That was a very enjoyable read, Pauline, thanks so much for sharing your holiday experiences with us. Fantastic photos, as ever! I always love reading about your exploits in Scotland.
The thread title threw me for a moment, though - I now have this image of you and Ian marching through the Cairngorms! |

| | | Re: Pauline & Ian's Cairngorms March 2010 Great thread Pauline & well done for the pine marten shot. Poor you & the camper, (I have car luck like that!) but it all goes into the pot & makes great soup as they say (or something like that anyway) You'll certainly remember the 2010 trip.
Bye the way my sister absolutely loved her present. Thank you!

| | | Re: Pauline & Ian's Cairngorms March 2010 Thank you for your blog Pauline. As always a great read. Well done with the pine marten pic. You must have felt chuffed to bits when you snapped it.
We were up in the Cairngorms the week of the 8th. Did you notice how many white hares there were dead on the A9? Only managed to get onto Loch Garten car park the once because of contractors vehicles.
Western Isles next is it? We're off over there about 2nd week of June. |

| | | Re: Pauline & Ian's Cairngorms March 2010 Thanks lads and lasses for appreciation - I'm glad you enjoyed the long read It was possibly the most dire holiday I've ever taken which makes me hope that the rest this year are a lot better?? And yes there was a lot of run-over mountain hares - such a pity .......
Its Rutland next - which is really not far off and I'm going to be loose for the whole week - Wed to Wed - yea - bring it on! Haven't decided yet which direction I'm going or why - and also depends on whether Ian can get time off for either the Sat or the Sun at Rutland .......... See some of you in person soon then
