| | | Who are we connected to? A thread was start not so long back about where abouts us members live. This thread is in a similar vein! I'd like to know from where abouts you live and what National Cycling Routes you have in your Counties, you could have 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 different routes possibly, each route will have a red square with a route number in white, on road signs you'll see the route number on a blue road direction sign. All these routes make up the National Cycling Network, maybe you use them ever by foot, bicycle or mobility scooter. Here in The Wyre Forest District we have 2 routes 45 and 54 which runs to Derbyshire so I may have a route connection with say Sunnydale if she has route 54 route in her area!? So I thought for fun we could find out our local routes and see who is connected to who. I don't know if this will work but nothing ventured nothing gained. It might be that some us aren't connected at all but still I'll be interested to know of your nearest route!
Cheers
Jez

Our local national cycle is route 6.
For mountain bike NOT road bikes! It is varied terrain from small tarmack road to small forest dirt tracks. This route passes through Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest, Sherwood pines, Warsop, old Clipston, Mansfield, Rainworth, Blidworth, Ravenshead, Newstead Abbey, Hucknall train station. Route 6 then goes on to Nottingham and beyond, but not sure where next.

| | | Re: Who are we connected to? Thanks Nettle Runner I don't think this thread will work to be honest not like it is any! The best way I can see it working would be in poll format in which members can tick on their route or routes and a post to their location on route so for me it would be route 45 on the poll and Bewdley on post for location. Members say from Stourport On Severn would click on route 45 & 54. That's the only way I can see it working!
So If a Kind mod wouldn't mind removing this thread so I could start a fresh if it's no trouble I'd be most grateful!!!!!
Apologies for giving the mods more work than they already have!
Jez

| | | Re: Who are we connected to? I used to be a Sustran Ranger and have done a lot of work for the Sustrans in the last couple of years, that was painting mile-posts, putting up signs oe stickers and general stuff.
Anyway, getting to the point you are making. My area is connected to Route 1, 14 & 65. I've done Route 1 from Harwich to Middlesbrough and Middlesborough to John O'Groats.
If next weeks planned Esk Valley Walk is snowed up on the North Yorkshire Moors, then I might do route 71 and 7 + C2C. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
