Coming back from the East Midlands yesterday, encountered a lot of snow north of Nottingham and then none until leaving Chesterfield but by the time we got into Sheffield there was a nice carpet (over the remaining piles of snow that we left over a week ago!). Too late to go up on the moors or dales so went to the pub: en route we were entertained by a couple of foxes prancing from one side of the road to another in front of us. They weren't noisy or aggressive to each other so I assume that they were a mating/mated pair? They were very nifty movers but thanks to the virgin snow we were able to trace their tracks for a good distance ... fascinating stuff, shame I didn't have my camera. |
