| | | Re: Coast and Castles Cycle Ride 2010 I think the Coast and Castles cycle ride for year is going to be shifted to September and only a week at that. Probaby to the C&C, then a back home via Pennine Cycle-Way to Alston and Middleton in Teesdale.
The reason being is...I want to do the Coast to Coast Walk again, but this time start from Robin Hood's Bay to St. Bees. But will be in June, which is warmer than May. |

| | | Re: Coast and Castles Cycle Ride 2010 Ooops, change of mind again. Silly Foxy. Back to Coast & Castles, will I ever keep to my plans. I've never done a good cycling tour for years and this is my chance to do so. |

| | | Re: Coast and Castles Cycle Ride 2010 Just ordered a new bar-bag for next year's cycling trip, I thought it would be wise to get one. Now I can have the camera, mobile phone and sweeties at arms reach.
The bar-bag is the Revolution Adventure 3L from Edinburgh Bicycles, it's a baby bar-bag at 3 litres. But I'm also carrying the Ortlieb Front Roller Classic on the low rider racks, so should be a ideal size. Oh and not forgetting the Ortlieb Back-Packer Classics on the rear rack.

| | | Re: Coast and Castles Cycle Ride 2010 Just received my new Revolution Adventure 3L from Edinburgh Bicycles this morning and straight away decided to fit it on the bike. But, the handlebar fitting is not compatiable with my Raul & Kixen "Klick-Fix fitting and I have the extender. Damm, I thought. This is not going fit like I would of hoped, well, it might have to be returned or another way is put it on the road bike which will be ideal for them short rides around the local area.
So, I will now stick to the Norco Yukon 7 litre ar-bag I have already, least it's 100% waterproof.
Anyway, here is the photo of my beloved bike and that's how it will look on my next year's 2-week cycling tour of Northumbria/Scottish Borders/Lake District/Forest of Bowland/Yorkshire Dales/North Yorkshire Moors, should be good. I did weigh the bike with all the panniers and tent and came to 33kg and that's only with a dummy load, probably more to the 50 kg load once the proper camping gear gets packed.

Martin | Yeah, got the Norco Yukon off the CTC Forum second-hand. The CTC forum is really good which I'm registered ofcause and I've been a CTC member now for 12 years, I love going to York Cycle Show held in June every year, I'll be there again next year.
The bar-bag is normal for that height and the Brooks saddle is a B17, nearly got it broken in. I have a Brooks B17 Flyer, that is the one with springs to stop the shocks and is a favourite with mtb'ers. |
