| | Where to buy DAC poles (for Terra Nova Tent)? hi all
have the front porch poles bent some years ago, and when i went to enquire about replacements Terra Nova asked for £35 per pole! so i have been camping with a slight bent tent door. does anyone know if i can get DAC (lightest material for poles apparently) poles at a more reasonable price?

You can use them as the lengths provided, or tailor them to suit (to ensure that you don't have one odd pole-length different from the others) by trimming the "female" end of each pole with a hacksaw. It's then simply a case of threading through the shock cord, and away you go.
As I recall, they start from around £15 (per full set) The only thing you have to be careful about is to ensure that you get the right diameter - strong enough to replace the original but flexible enough to do the job.
