Cheers,
Adam

Cheers,
Adam | Unfortunately Schweppes also contains artificial sweeteners which I avoid like the plague.
According to the ingredients list, Tescos own brand does contain quinine, and that's what I've been drinking. I haven't had another cleg bite since I started drinking it, but I'm going to be in two cleggy areas this Saturday and Sunday, so it may be put to the test then. |

| | | Re: Help me find an Effective Mozzie/Midge repellant (tried 'Vape'?) We went to Greece in June and I was bitten to death, for the first time ever.
I had on Jungle Formula Mosquito spray ,which is usually Ok, it didn't work.
I tried Autan , it didn't work.I didn't wear any perfume as I was told that might be a problem.I bought one of those little pen things with ammonia in , that was Ok after I'd been bitten ,it helped stop the itch. I swear I never scratched ,not one bite.I took a photo of my bites to show my family when we got home,if you promise not to laugh I'll post it.

Well I hope this doesn't give anyone nightmares, sorry Mods if it's not a wildlife photo but I was pretty wild at the time I can tell you. They got worse after this was taken they seemed to get deeper red and bigger ,and you can still see the marks now ,over a month later.
I've just sent for a product called Incognito which I'm going to try, google it and it sounds OK,we'll soon find out anyway.

| | | Re: Help me find an Effective Mozzie/Midge repellant (tried 'Vape'?) I lived in Scandinavia for 20 years and have had good results with what they call "Myggeolie" (about 20% 'deet'), but the very best I know is 3M's Ultrathon. It's a bit like emulsion paint and lasts for ages, even when you sweat, and keeps the huge Scandinavian mozzies away.
Even that doesn't work when there's a huge cloud of midges. A hat with a broad brim and a headnet is the way to go. |

| | | Re: Help me find an Effective Mozzie/Midge repellant (tried 'Vape'?) Strange. My wife and I have just spent a week in Wales and the mozzies were very active every evening and morning. While everyone around us suffered,we
applied our JUNGLE FORMULA and sat there in complete peace and quiet and had a good laugh at other folks antics. We too have suffered in the past but
the formula was recommended by WHICH magazine as the only repellent worth bothering with and by christ it worked for us and we were glad of it. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
