| | | Re: Day out to Bakwell Bakewell is one of my favourite places, along with Lathkill Dale which is only a few miles out from the town. I'll no doubt be going there in the near future, it's been ages since I last saw a Dipper. |

They say yesterday was hotter than in Greese.

| | | Re: Day out to Bakwell One of our favourite centres for walking. You can do some very short ones or quite extensive ones travelling fro Bakewell along the Monsal Trail. Shortest cuts across country to Ashford in the Water (good pubs) and back along the river to Bakewell; or you can carry along the trail to Little Longstone (good pub) and on to Monsal Head (pub) then on to Millers Dale or down the Wye to Deepdale. [Trail up there to Sheldon (reasonable pub)]. Then circle back to Bakewell (several good pubs). Alternatively you can make a big hike via Sheldon to Monyash (expensive pub) along Lathkill and up to Bakewell from the opposite direction - passing a few pubs en route .... |

| | | Re: Day out to Bakwell Have to admit not been for a while, a great local place to visit. For many years I use to help out on my dads stall at the market. Many happy memories.
One of all the trout, clearly seen in the river, and masses of mallards.
