| | | Re: Boots Another important thing about boots is the footbed - most boot manufacturers fit their boots with cheap and nasty footbeds to keep the costs down. It can be well worth replacing them with decent ones - this is advice I've seen given on several forums.
The footbeds in my new Hi-tec boots seem OK (but anything would after the old ones I had in my Scarpa boots, which I should have replaced ages ago!) but eventually I'll probably try some Noene footbeds - this is what the blurb says of them: "These footbeds are only 2mm thick, and yet are capable of absorbing up to 90 % of the micro-shocks received during heel strike. They can be used under, on top of, or instead of your existing footbeds.
Shock absorbing footbeds can help to releive tendinitis, knee problems and back pain." |

| | | Re: Boots I had a pair of Karrimor boots that lasted 9 years and needed virtually no breaking-in. Bloomin' comfortable to boot (if you pardon the pun).
Cheers,

| | | Re: Boots Was in Go-Outdoors yesterday and I just can't resist a good bargain, when I got a pair of Hi-Tec Quadra Classic trainers. Just the job for my double C2C bike ride, really lightweight and comfy. |

| | | Re: Boots The 'trouble 'n' strife' has just bought me a pair of Meindl Emoticon gore-tex trainers for my birthday. Not cheap, but they look well good. Not sure what sort of punishment they will take though.

| | | Re: Boots When I was at the York Cycle Show last week-end, I got a pair of Croc's (Baya) @ £30. Lovely and light, when I was down Middlesbrough this morning, got another pair of Croc's (Off-Road) for £19 in the sale. Mmm, I wonder if I could do the Pennine Way in them, doubt it . However, there would be great for around the camp-site |

Julian | Having walking in the Berghaus Explorer's over the last walks and giving me hot spots on both heels, I've decided to get another pair of boots. Remembering JB9302 from last year, I went to my local Go-Outdoors this evening and purchased a pair of Hi-Tec Kruger which for £19.99 in the sale and seemed a good buy. So, hoping to try them out this week-end.
I afraid the Explorer's have been downgraded to the bike for work and back | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
