Thanks, Pam! I've just Googled it and had a fascinating ten minutes reading it all through. I see now which is which in relation to the old station. Yes, good memories.

Not quite today, but two walks in the same area, first last Wednesday (14th), followed by one Sunday (18th).

Wednesday was a short stroll of 6 miles around the combes and included Minotaur Beetle burrows, Fly Agaric in a rather dishevelled state and good conditions for late afternoon, early evening photography.















Suday afternoon was 10 miles in a similar area and included the first flock of fieldfares of the year for me, more berries and the colours of autumn in a line of beech trees.















Have to get out and about while the ground isn't too wet underboot.

The Clwyd hills are beautiful and deserted as long as you avoid Moel Famau where all the trippers and dog walkers go

Thanks. I'll have to use an atlas to find the Clwyd Hills, they look like the Quantocks with an extra 800ft of elevation. Never seen a fungus like that one down here! Should be out walking later today.

They're on the menu again this morning. What better way to enjoy breakfast than sat on a log in the middle of the woods with a cuppa brewed using pine cones and freshly roasted chestnuts picked up an hour previously. There may be a variation on the menu this morning though, hoping for a some decent mushrooms as an accompaniment.
