Is that first picture of the viaduct that gives the classic view of Millers Dale? I've been over it several times on the train back in the late 60s when I was at college in Matlock. |

Great iron work. Here`s another photo taken by my friend. Hope it brings back great memories for you

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Hi everyone, on Sunday we walked around 10 miles, starting at the village of Bidford on Avon we walked upstream towards to Barton then towards Welford on Avon, beautiful river scenery. From Welford we took paths over pastures towards Dorsington & then on the Heart of England Way back to Barton & then Bidford. Wonderful walk, & a nice pint at Barton Arms.

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Thanks very much for your help Richard. The Wasdale Head Inn sounds good. Aiming to get down before it turns too wintery so I'll post again and let you know how it goes.
Cheers! |

The Clwyd hills are beautiful and deserted as long as you avoid Moel Famau where all the trippers and dog walkers go
That's Ruthin in the valley below:
And looking North towards the sea (you can just see the fort on the despised Moel Famau on the right...not a real fort by the way):
And here's an irrrelevant Lycoperdon foetidum I found up in the hills: |

What better way to enjoy breakfast than sat on a log in the middle of the woods with a cuppa brewed using pine cones and freshly roasted chestnuts picked up an hour previously. There may be a variation on the menu this morning though, hoping for a some decent mushrooms as an accompaniment. |

Cheers, Tony. | Click on 'My Profile' (near top of page), then click 'Edit Options' (down the left hand side). Then scroll down and change the 'Default thread subscription mode' to 'No email notification'.
Well, that turns off emails for all threads you've subscribed to. I'm afraid I've forgotten how you unsubscribe from a particular thread, but I know it's possible. |

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Today it was back to my favourite haunt in Minley Wood taking advantage of the crazy weather patterns: Yesterday severe weather warnings; today perfect autumn sunshine.
(It was such a glorious day I also took in Pyestock Aisles/Fleet Pond between Farnborough and Fleet, and Caesar's Camp, Aldershot)
