Upper Derwent Valley today, around Derwent and Howden Reservoirs. Mostly in support of Mrs G. who has managed to get her name down for the Manchester Shine marathon on May 1st, so she's trying to get in some road walking training. |

Pleased to hear you're missing me though......or rather, my photos!
Lovely shots of Chrome & Parkhouse BTW. It's great fun running up those two!

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Sundays walk for me was with friends from Ladybower Reservoir up on to Howden Edge and round. Just over 13 miles with a chilly breeze blowing. Great views around towards Kinder and lots of wildlife. Plenty of Red Grouse, a Raven and a Mountain Hare, with Tits and Nuthatch down by the reservoir.

Took the nearby track to Norton St. Phillip Past field, pond and brooks.A 4 Hour round tour with a stop for rolls, goodies and water. Many Birds, flowers, insects and a couple of Squirrels seen. Also a carp half eaten by a pond.Possible Otter action.

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Near bye Camerton Woods today.Lots of Lesser Celandine and Violets. The Violets are spreading through out the wood.3 years ago only one patch seen. The Wood Anemone was out in full. Squirrels seen scampering the branches.Buzzards were circling overhead.Leaf buds on most of the trees now.Arums coming up all over the place.Only one patch of Wild Garlic in the shade. So all in all it was a good 2 hour amble through......

| | | Re: where did you walk today? I haven't checked this thread for a bit, so it's great to see the 'Dragon's Back' and it's neighbour. Chrome and Parkhouse Hills are tremendous. Seeing these photos, I can't wait to climb them again.
And the lovely looking Malverns. I've looked longingly at them many times as I've driven past, but never walked up them. One day perhaps.
