| | | Re: where did you walk today? The heather is carefully burnt in a controlled way. The idea is to encourage young heather shoots to grow, as food for both sheep and grouse.

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Your 16 miles makes me feel very lazy, Foxy! Great photos everyone.
I managed about 2 miles above the Sydling Valley to the north of Dorchester this morning. Great in the sun and out of the stiff breeze.
Mixed woodland that will be covered with primroses before too long. |

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Yes, Lynn. The 16 miles was a fast pace and I need to get some miles in before my Coast to Coast in 10 weeks. That middle photo of the trees, looks very bleak and errie.

| | | Re: where did you walk today? Splendid walks folks, all I managed today was about half a mile round a local park and the light was too poor to bother taking pics of even that.

| | | Re: where did you walk today? I quite amazed myself, at the age of 52 I have'nt been out walking for a year, must be all the cycling I've been doing. Still walking is nice and am pleased I can still do the 16 miles, I need to for the C2C. I have a couple of long days of 22 miles, Shap to Kirkby Stephen and Ingleby Cross to Lion Inn. I've a 30 mile walk next week-end over 2 days doing the Esk Valley Walk, weather permitting because I'm camping it. Should hopefully get some good photos.

I think that 16 miles may be a bit beyond me at the moment, but I am hoping to walk around the Isle of Portland sometime soon. That, I think, is about 7 miles. Looking for a good clear day as the views should be spectacular! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
