| | | What About The Pedestrians Has anyone else noticed how all the roads have been Gritted nicely and the Pavements have been over looked, no Blooming Wonder people take to their Cars In this weather. The Snow outside now has transformed Into a different consistency, It's as hard as Rock and when you fall your gonna feel It.
The different consistencies remind me of the Mud at Glastonbury Festival, It's easy when It's all Slushy but when It starts to Firm up It gets very hard for Little Lightweight people. It's not quite the same with Snow as It affects everyone the same. Think I'm gonna wrap myself In cotton wool tomorrow before venturing out and about... |

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians It's always the same, the pedestrians are left out but I saw on the news tonight the salting/gritting of some pavements in Wales - well done them.
I also heard we are running out of salt! What a state to be in how on earth can we run out of salt!! |

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians You must be joking BM, we haven't even had our roads done on the estate and they're all hilly, so just a nightmare at the moment
We have a grit bucket on the estate, but it's empty . One of the neighbours phoned the council, only to be told we've had our allotment of grit and can't have anymore until we cough up some more council tax in April!! |

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians We have a proper little pavement plough and gritter here in Aviemore. It's like a tiny tractor with plough attachment on the front and little hopper on the back that is full of grit.
It's great in both snowy conditions and just ice or frost. |

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians Well judging by the news today we'll be lucky to even have the roads gritted after Sunday

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians Gritter (with snowplough attachment, never seen that before here!) came down my road on Monday, but seemed to be planning ahead and sprinkled the merest dusting of salt on the road. It didn't make the least discerible difference, but at least the meagre quantity used means that there will be more left later if needed.
However, the buffoons that insisted on going out in their cars in such absurdly treacherous conditions did a good job of churning up the snow/slush, and as a result, the roads were quite safe to walk on, and the cars were still scarce enough to feel safe doing that.

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians The gritters were out on the A75 between Newton Stewart & Stranraer on Thurs. afternoon. No sign of frost, so by the time night falls & Its cold enough 2 freeze, the traffic has sprayed it away. |

| | | Re: What About The Pedestrians Are gritters allowed to brake the speed record I don't think I've seen one travelling at less than 40+ mph down our 30 mph street wonder what it's stopping is?
