| | | Emergency Shelter Whilst I was looking on the LFTO forum, one post on the "For Sale/Wanted" caught my eye. Someone was wanted to swop a 6/8 person shelter for a 2 shelter, I thought I've got one of them in the gear-box along with the other outdoor items.
I got mine (2-man or woman ) from Trail magazine a few years ago when I took out a subscription with them and these were a free gift for doing so. However the demand was very great and had to wait months for mine, which was on a 1st come, 1st served basis.
These shelters are handy for lunches when it's raining and for a emergency overnight stop, although I've never used mine as yet. I tried it out tonight in the front room and plenty of room inside, but the roof kept coming down. Well there were designed for 2 people, ahh I thought, I will get the trekking pole. Tried that and Bob's yer Uncle, up she go's. nice and cosy.
Well, that's another item for the planned Coast to Coast Walk (plug) in May.
I hope to be out on Sunday with the local rambling club and the forecast is rain . But I will tucked in my shelter and saying room for a tiny one (no men allowed, only women ) |

The last time 2 guys I met on the Honister Pass Road to Kirkby Stephen nearly killed me off. There were carry a tiny ruc-sac each, doing B&B and poor me who was carrying a 65 litre ruc-sac and camping. Never again, will I do that, I will go my own pace.
My Mum always says "Never take a Mouse on holiday, unless it's your own" and it's true. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
