| | Looking For A Good Cycle Repair Manual One thing I lack in my collection of cycling books is a decent repair manual!
Any suggestions?

| | | Re: Looking For A Good Cycle Repair Manual If like me, who is a keen cycle tourist camper. I have "The Bike Book" 4th Edition by Haynes, £14.99. What I like about it is information about V brakes, Ergo combined brake & gear levers, cassettes etc. The best job I've done is bottom bracket removal, I've saved a fortune from going to the LBS. But you need special tools for this, but then the tool is your's for life. |

I'll give the book a google. Many thanks for your help!

| | | Re: Looking For A Good Cycle Repair Manual I hope the dream will come true for you, Jez. I'm planning a cycling trip in September, that is using the NCN Hadrians Wall Cycle-Way from Newcastle upon Tyne to Ravensglass and then back to Whitby using the Walney to Wear route, only I'm going to Whitby.
Yes, the Sustrans NCN have a really good network of cycle-paths. I've done a few in recent years, Harwich to Middlesborough via Hull & York and Newcastle to John O'Groats via Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Thurso and can recommend it.
Getting back to bike repairs try this excellent web site. Park Tool Website |

| | | Re: Looking For A Good Cycle Repair Manual In my younger years I was a passionate cyclist both racing and touring, The best book I ever read was Richards Bicycle Book by Richard Ballantine. I think that it has been recently republished , Covers everything you would ever want to know about cycling but not just a workshop manual...

| | | Re: Looking For A Good Cycle Repair Manual The Edinburgh Bicycle Co-operative sell the DK Bike Repair Manual by Chris Sidewells for 9.99. Haven't seen it myself but can't think they'd sell anything that wasn't good. Their website will tell you more. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
