| | | Re: International Camping Carnet AA no longer do them but the Camping and Caravan Club do and also Caravan Club I do not know about membership requirements but we prefer Camping Club to Caravan Club (only because of the booking methods)
We do belong to both

| | | Re: International Camping Carnet Thanks - I'll get on to them. But is it very useful? I've travelled/camped in France, Spain, Italy &c and, until now never heard of it! One site says it "might be" useful in Portugal and another that it's essential in Denmark. Any other opinions? Quote:

| | | Re: International Camping Carnet Right, so far it seems that I have to join these organisations to be able to buy the carnet/card. Which then begs another questions - is there any value in joining these clubs for people like us who only camp on the continent (and don't have a caravan). If not, then how does one get hold of the CCI?
Going slightly off the topic, I'd be interested to know of uses of these clubs. Are they like the YHA for caravanners or other campers? They seem to offer a lot of options but how useful are they to the occasional (foreign!) camper? Quote:

| | | Re: International Camping Carnet Apparently their (both clubs) camping insurance is very good coupled with the clout of a big organisation is very useful.
Ring them up and talk to them they are people that camp, not salesmen

| | | Re: International Camping Carnet I use both clubs they provide secure sites with all the facilitys,Showers Toilets, Dog Walks, Mountain Bike and Surfing wash rooms etc. look up sites in areas that interest you.
Camping Club caters for Back-Packers, Family Tenters, Trailer Tents, Caravans, Motor Caravans
Caravan Club, Caravans, Motorhomes,
I believe both have reciprocal arrangements with euro-sites

| | | Re: International Camping Carnet Eventually I gave up on these: seem of little use to low-end users such as ourslves who tend to spend 2-7 days on smaller sites. We generally use municipals and, in France, at least have been perfectly happy with them.
The forums at UKCampsite.co.uk Camping Forums, Motorhome Forums, and Caravanning Forums can be very informative but, of course, different people like different types of campsites ... Quote:
