Hurray for the clocks changing

I do like this time of year, it meant I was able to get my trusty mountain bike out of the shed last night when I got back from work and go for a ride in the woods whilst it was still daylight, woohoo! (very exciting for us poor people stuck in offices all day long!!)

Yes, I love the light nights too. Cant wait to sit in garden again glass of wine in hand listening to insects buzzing and the birds singing.

Sunny evenings, dragonflies by the pond and lots of lovely wine, I agree, longer evenings are gonna be fab once more

Not long now until I'll be sitting outside a tepee in the warm evenings, watching wildlife and relaxing with a glass of fruit wine maybe playing games and or music too

I love the clocks going forward and am looking forward to seeing stunning sunsets while teaching myself to become bike fit again, and a little after supper gardening.

Re: Hurray for the clocks changing

Aaaaah the waterfall, just finished unearthing a pile of asbestos dumped in the quarry back in the early 70s, have finished the bit I was working on and was having real trouble deciding what to plant. Realised a sculpture type thing would look great. Now home to big dragon................
Due to be planted with ferns and moss.
Will be painting dragon with yoghurt soon to help green it up a bit and will post pic later in the year.

Re: Hurray for the clocks changing

yes, it does seem it will be more of a hot chocolate and biscuits whilst shivering in the garden rather than a glass of wine and relaxing in the evening sun! Sorry folks if I jinxed it by wittering on about how pleasurable the lighter evenings are!!

Heh, this was the exact same for me this year.
Definitely one of the years mini-milestones to get me through to the next week off work at christmas/new year and all the food that goes with it!

Bought Elgrin home to sit happily in the new micro meadow he's a 3ft dwarf! I have sat him on some large stones with gaps so small mammals and insects, amphibians! can take shelter under him as he is hollow at his base! Like the Yoghurt idea will paste some on the stones at his feet. Cheers Hobble

Re: Hurray for the clocks changing

Painted the dragon with my 3yr old daughter yesterday, she asked why and I told her it may help to green her up a bit.
Moved some forget-me-nots for self seeding next year so he will look as if he is in water.
As far as Oddies garden, no thanks, it would drive me mad.
