| | | Re: Tummel Valley & Pitlochry Hi Bill, There are birds everywhere around that area. On and around the Lochs Faskally,Tummel and Rannoch there a range of waterfowl and waders.
Around Killiecrankie and the 'forest walks' near The Queens View (at Loch Tummel) are other areas where you can see several species with deer a possibility.
A range of 'birds of prey' are around most of the time throughout the whole area.
Not far from Pitlochry and near to Dunkeld there is Loch of the Lowes where you can watch Osprey from the hides at the Scottish Wildlife Visitor Centre. The Osprey nest is easily seen and there are telescopes available.
There are also feeding stations for birds nearby and a range of waterfowl and waders around the loch.
There is a deer farm at Glengoulandie which is on the road from Tummel Bridge to Aberfeldy. The deer tend to be in a natural environment and can be seen on the hillsides around the farm area.
Hope this give you some idea of what the area offers.
John D
PS Access to most of these sites is quite good especially the Loch of the Lowes Site.

| | | Re: Tummel Valley & Pitlochry Hi Bill, I should have mentioned the possibilty of seeing Red Squirrel at Killiecrankie and in the grounds of Blair Castle at Blair Atholl. There are aslo deer and a wide range of birds to be seen in Blair Castle grounds.
