| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet Hi,
I have had this problem for years and though I'd cracked it with Keen approach shoes, but they make the heels far too wide and they slip all over the place.
I find Scarpa too narrow like most other shoes, so wouldn't recommend them, some Brasher aren't too bad, but Merrell, Salomon etc. are to be avoided
In my opinion you won't go far wrong with Meindl Journey XCR, fit perfectly and are true to size, so no extra long shoes to get the width. A bit pricey, but you can't really compromise on footwear. Quality build, too.

Quality build, too. | Scarpa are fine. You just need to look for the correct code. I have very wide feet so go for the BX X.
Scarpa are one of the the very best for accomodating wide feet

| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet I mentioned earlier in the thread that I'd had several pairs of Scarpa Rangers. While trying out boots one time, looking to get something different, I found that not all Scarpa boots are the same, some like the Rangers fitted me well but another pair that I liked didn't fit me at all. So, as I've heard other people say, the fit can vary even amongst the same manufacturer's range of boots.
FWIW, I've been wearing a pair of H-Tec boots for about a year now, and they fit my fairly wide feet nicely. |

| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet for the record I have wide feet and have the same problem buying tennis shoes in the UK. I now import New Balance X trainers from the USA which come in a 6E fit. Oddly NB wont supply this shoe to shops here and indeed most shops in the USA wont send them abroad but if you persevere there will always be some outlet prepared to do so. |

| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet I have very wide feet too. I found that Meindl were best for me for boots. Scarpa were too narrow (shows how we all vary on this), and for walking shoes I currently use 510 approach shoes, they seem to be very wide over the toes. |

| | Re: walking shoes for wide feet Hi,
I'm having exactly this problem at the moment, I am currently testing a pair of Berghaus w explorer light trail. They have a wide toe box and the best so far, I have tried Meindl, Salamon, Merrel to no avail. I have an extra heel insert which looks a bit like an oder eater to take up the slack in the heel, because this is part of the problem and proper breathable walking socks. I am suffering with arthritis in my toes so this has to be right. I have found that you need an assistant who knows what he is talking about when purchasing from a store and if possible have your feet measured properly, some outdoor shops offer this service and carried out properly? its invaluable. I'll let you know how I get on and if there are any hints out there for getting this right, let me know. |

| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet I have fairly wide feet and also suffer from Oedema in hot weather. The most comfortable boots I've ever worn were made by Alt-berg
They make boots in various widths and also do custom made.
Check out their website for info/products etc
