| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet I regret to say I just accept the fact that I end up with shoes too long for me if I want the width. I suspect that a good number of people wear shoes that are too narrow 'cos they look better, and the manufacturers pander to this. |

Scarpas I believe are on the wide side and I've had these (Ranger model) in the past and liked them. Brashers are a wide one too, but a lass I was talking to in the Dales recently said her heels were loose in them and she got terrible blisters!

Mens shoes rather than ladies are slightly better, but its still a problem.
I do have boots as well, but find boots too cumbersome for shorter walks and stuff like birdwatching etc.
Does anyone know of any brands or styles that are known for being a wider fit, or does anyone have any suggestions?
Anyone else with the same problem? | Hi emma
I have wide feet and for light summer walking i have a pair of teva sandals. They are designed for walkers. My boots are zimberlain leather hiking boots, they are reasonably wide but first time on they hurt a bit. I waterproof them with neatsfoot oil and that helps to soften them up a bit and being leather they do stretch slightly. They are now extremely comfortable.

| I've got fairly wide feet and have used Scarpa Boots and trainers for a number of years. They certainly seem to suit me.

| | | Re: walking shoes for wide feet No, its a route from Oban to St Andrews, it takes in a little bit of the West Highland way. 126 miles (or 128 - my memory fades!! ha ha). We followed a route from a book from a man called Brian Smailes. |
