| | | DAB Digital Radio Normal radio in the Welsh mountains is a bit ropey, if you can get it at all.
Does DAB work from satelites and if so has anyone tried it in areas where normal reception is poor?
Cheers |

Cheers | When I was working in Suffolk - despite al that flat land I couldn't get a decent fm signal at all where I worked and I bought a DAB thing - still no signal Don't think it's satallites but I could be wrong think it's terrestrial transmitters.
It had a CD player though! |

| | | Re: DAB Digital Radio Yep its ropey in the car and on trains. Shame really as some of the choices are great. Have to admit I bought it just for the cricket and to listen to sporting events on but even in the woods here its not the best. Some of the music channels are fantastic, real specialist stuff. Guess thats why I like it as have never been into anything commercial. I'm not really into conforming socially, preferring to do something a little special and leftfield |

I'm slightly allergic to conforming - but I totally know what you mean. I do like some commercial stuff and decided years ago that I was just going to like what I like no matter what people think if I want to listen to goldfrapp or Britney I will if I want to listen to Jim Noir or mettafix (and plase do they're brill) I will dammit..... |

| | | Re: DAB Digital Radio I will get involved on limewire later and let you know, marks out of ten. At the moment I am listening to Portishead, again, (its the messages) but am usually involved in anything from harry connick to grooverider. Had a fantastic summer last year getting a few warehouse parties in in London, then some, in darkened pubs on Columbia Road, East End. A really good vibe. Shoreditch is a very good place to be this time of year and its going to get abused this summer. My favoutrite album right now is pop chop. It is strange and hard to get of so no-one plays it, then sunday I like to kick back and slide with Eva Cassidy, or maybe some champagne lounge music but sure bbc seem to be getting their act together with some of the newer channels. Might even start paying my license again. |

| | | Re: DAB Digital Radio Thats no good. Mine is a walkman. I bought it when they first came out about three of four years back and have to say I have always got on fine with it but would like better coverage. I thought maybe that digital tv gives me most of the channels you can get from DAB so never bought for home. I like when I am outside, on my own, taking a walk. Yup |

| | | Re: DAB Digital Radio I have a little Panasonic (other makes are available) DAB + CD player thing (it does a very flash slidy thing with the cd door thing too - which is always a good thing) which I listen to at work a lot and I've never had any trouble with it apart from when I was in Suffolk but then there was no signal at all where I was! |

| | | Re: DAB Digital Radio I never saw this model. I never knew you could get combined with other technologies, just thought a few companies were concentrating purely on DAB. Mine is by Pure, which is a brand I never heard of previously. I also like the information that comes up on the screen, as I quite like to keep up with the news. Tonight my laptop is boiling hot. I think it is going to die soon. Better back everything up. |

The panasonic thing was one of the first I think when I loked around the big store there wee only a couple of others and only in the mini system sections the big stereos were lightyears behind in comparison!!!
OOooohhhh yeah Pure have just brought out a brilliant little combined stereo thing that has a slot in the front for a memory card that you can records radio shows onto and then obviously you can take the favoured shows with you to work or in your phone (if it takes memory cards) in your PDA etc.........
Dammit I need a rich husband.....
If you manage to find that rich wife you were talking about Boddie can you see if there's a rich - wildlife loving- husband on the same shelf for me?
I bought a laptop off ebay last week for £133 not sure how long that will last either!! |

I would not mind finding a lovely lady in Gloucestershire in one of the big houses and have garden parties with a plethora of halfwitt mates of mine. |

All the people in big houses are generally skint though all the money's tied up in the land and the houses are falling apart and cost three arms and three legs and half a torso to maintain - you want nouveau riche (SP?) outskirts of Oxfordshire I reckon - Woodstock or something.... |

Here is my model of DAB. It is an old model, with software version 1.0 on it, so may be limited but seems fine. I will check next time I am in the stereo store to see if there is a new version and if it is better I will, by slight of hand, swap it with mine. |
