| | | Re: places to go in the lake district Nothing could beat camping in Wasdale, near Scafell Pike. Most of what you asked for in is around Wast Water, I went there last month (not camping) and the carnivorous plants on the edge of the lake were great!

Dramatic Scenery: Either Upper Eskdale or Wasdale
Good Wildlife: Around the Wythop area
Red Squirrels: Loweswater area.....but you have to be lucky (Better going to Formby)
Moorland: The Eastern Lake District.....The Shap Fells

| | | Re: places to go in the lake district red squirrels currently going "boing" all over the woods below Sale Fell and at Whinlatter - have seen at least one a day this week. Also very good for fungi and deer, and the buzzards are clearly up to something too.... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
