| | Bicycle Mobile again :) Hi All,
The new bike arrived this afternoon and it's fantastic, its a Giant Expression hybrid.
I gave up cycling last year as I have a lot of problems with my back and cycling was not helping a great deal, recently I was talking to another cyclist and he suggested trying a more relaxed riding position offered from a hybrid bike. It certainly feels very relaxed and the riding position is more sitting up straight and not bent over as much as it was with the mountain bike, also very lightweight and well balanced.
I was very pleased with the price nearly all the dealers are doing this bike for (£149 incl postage) I was quite surprised because it uses very high quality components, full size mudguards and a sturdy pannier rack. A couple of waterproof panniers and I will be very pleased at not having to be driven to my local sites up to 5 times per week :-)
Complaint (only 1) , they don't do it in Camo |

| | | Re: Bicycle Mobile again :) I like the Chain guard that should save on wear and tare plus the rack straps look handy! My daily commute used to be daily recumbent ventured as to the relaxed riding posistion. due to aches & pains. somehow they have passed! Now my rides are on an upwrong singlespeed & i'm loving it!! Though my downright recumbent rides on my new highracer are the best rock'n'roll times!!! My best wishes to bike culture may this country become the New Holland the Glory Days of olde Englands past! |

| | | Re: Bicycle Mobile again :) Sorry i got side tracked. Wanted to say- Glad you have purchased a comfy bike and may it hold you in good stead due to your back complaint for many years!!! Comfort on a bike surely is the paramount neccesarty. It could be a saddle swap or change in grips or both that could offer a better ride but could well cost more than you have shelled out. I wish you Happy Riding and hope your back heals pretty soon dude |

I have it setup to my size now and after a few runs its doing great, yes the chaingaurd makes a huge difference as does the rear rack. I should have some panniers on it soon (when Royal Mail can find time to deliver them ;-) ) and then get the scope and tripod out with me. Unfortunately the back will not heal through the type of work I done many years ago, I just need to be careful with what I do and how I do it.
Thanks again |

| | | Re: Bicycle Mobile again :) Hi again looking at your photo i get an inclin that you are located in a nice area for cycling. Esp if your taking the camera with you, that's my next investment a camera bag for my bike. I also want to go digital no idea how much i can get for my analogue slr? Probably not that much now? I'd like something with a good macro lens! |

| | Re: Bicycle Mobile again :) I live in Kilwinning which is in the county of Ayrshire, the scenery around here is very nice although I don't always capture it too well But sometimes it turns out ok, we went cycling to the next town (Irvine) today and took some photos across the firth of Clyde of the Isle of Arran.
I use a small Fuji F30 digital camera, it works well for my digiscoping and not too bad for normal photos, I use a fairly cheap bag from ebay and put it in my panniers between shots. :-)

I was shooting Heron (camera wise!) over the weekend, got some OK pics but they seem to know when I am about to get 'the' pic and just fly out of range! Well that's my excuse anyway |
