Many thanx | hi. i'd recommend getting a pair of meindhls personally ( i think thats how you spell it) i've had mine for close to 7 years now and they've never given me a single blister or problem. they're getting a bit knackered now, but only because i've used them so much!

| | | Re: Suggestions for Walking Boots.. On the 'cheap and cheerful' front I bought a pair from Land's End 4 years ago for about £50 (if I remember right) and they're still going strong. Comfy, strong and a good price.

| | | Re: Suggestions for Walking Boots.. I agree with almostnormal - definitely have a look at Meindls (? sp). They're not the cheapest but they are incredibly comfortable. Only downside is, they may be a bit more bulky than you're looking for. If I'm out and need to put my overtrousers on, I have to take each boot off and hop around trying to get the trousers on without overbalancing into the mud. Not a pretty sight! |

Meindl were spot on,put them on, wait a few minutes,
perfect fit.The lacing pulls your heel back so your feet
do not slide, the clever material moulds to your foot
I think mine are called Burmah they have gore-tex linings
Study the internet for prices

| | | Re: Suggestions for Walking Boots.. I like my Brasher Hillmasters comfort first time on ,like slippers after a while .
Put it this way, when these wear out I don't think I will bother looking at any other brand
/type if this style is still made ,I cant praise then enough .

| | | Re: Suggestions for Walking Boots.. The fit is a very personal thing, but I have had very good service for quite a few years from my Zamberlan boots, which are fully waterproof and very light and comfortable. |

| | | Re: Suggestions for Walking Boots.. Best to try some on in a few stores to see how they fit, I would certainly go for a waterproofed pair either Gore-tex or some other type. I have a pair of berghaus and they have done me well for a few years now.
