I'd agree with starting with the rear first. I had a Jetpacker Plus for many years as my cycletouring tent. I spent over two months living in it on one trip. Here's how I'd pitch it:
1. Lay out the outer tent, place the poles and pegs within easy reach and untangle the guylines.
2. Insert the small rear pole to the flysheet, peg out the loop at the rear of the tent, attach the guyline and peg out keeping the pole vertical.
3. Keeping tension on the flysheet, move to the larger end and insert the front poles. Attach the guylines and peg out each to make a V ensuring the flysheet remains taught.
4. Peg out the rear, front and then sides. Peg out the centre guylines.
5. Crawl inside with the inner, and attach the top to the loop near the top of the rear pole, and peg out the inner.
6. Attach the front of the inner to the loop at the top of the front A, peg out the front of the inner.
Notes:
1. It's much more stable with the lower end into the wind, a cross wind feels like you'll lose the tent. I mainly used just the two poles to make the A but if it was windy I'd add the third pole.
2. If there is a slope, pitch with the larger end up the slope. I made this mistake once and couldn't sleep.
3. I found ventilation was a problem with this tent, water vapour would condense on the centre seem and drip down on to the inner tent.
4. I woke up a couple of times feeling like I'd been buried alive, it can feel like a coffin at times...enjoy
Hope this helps. I need to find mind and give it a go now.
