Kestrel Catches a Shrew
Just posting a quick link to some recent video of a local kestrel consuming a shrew. It starts with some stills of the 'catch' and then a couple of feeding sequences. The kestrel was very tolerant of my presence and I was able to watch the complete sequence from catch to departure over a period of 7 minutes. The video is rather shorter. Shot hand-held in poor light on a 7D.

That is a truly wonderful bit of filming, thank you so very much for sharing it here.

Nothing got wasted there!

Recommend anyone who clicks on this thread to watch that short two minute sequence.
