| | | SLR cameras and HD video Questions Hi,I am hoping to get a Canon 7D SLR soon wich has HD video capabilities, however I do not have any other HD related equipment,so will I still be able to view any videos I take with it ? Obviously I realise I will not see it in HD,without the nessacary T.V / Monitor, and if so what will they be saved as on my computer, and will I still be able to view them in HD at a later date if they are converted to something else.I also assume the video on these will be very large files,is this correct ? Hope the questions make sense.
Many thanks. |

| | | Re: SLR cameras and HD video Questions H.D. files I've dealt with as net downloads, have been matroska container files with the mkv extension. Download the 'vlc' player - it's free and will play virtually any media file you pass to it. The files are much larger than 'vanilla' avi media files VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player

| | | Re: SLR cameras and HD video Questions Hi I have the 7D and the videos were saved as .mov files so work with quicktime.
Also the DPP software you get with the camera allows you to view the videos.
