Sub £300 HD cam?
Need to upgrade to a real camcorder under £300 - any advise?

Needs...
compact/pocketable cam
longish zoom x10+
zoom whilst videoing
IS
1920 x 1080 HD + 720p
still pics button
easy transfer to MS MovieMaker s/ware for editing

Answered this one myself with Hitachi DZHV1074 from Comet - sledging families in snows on Epsom Downs this morning look stunning shown on our Sony 40" LCD tv Only x5 optical zoom but digital at x2 [from x10!] looks good to equal quasi x10. My overview vid at YouTube - Hitachi DZHV1074 full HD camcorder +10Mp still cam
with still from 10Mp in camera mode below
