When spring is in the air Adders get together after the males disregard their old skin to show their new silvery blue sute, and the black zig zag running down their back,
A lot of sun bathing gets under way before the action starts, the males tolerate each other for a time then combat starts for the right to mate.
Here is a short 4-minute video that shows this sequence of events.

What's also good is that Adders get a positive "press" on WAB and will hopefully go some way in educating those that think otherwise of this stunning creature. |
