Apparently it tried to snow here in glos last night but it never came to anything..was milder than the previous night as well.

We had just under two inches of snow here this morning and very pretty it looked too. Just about all gone now though.

We had a tiny sprinkling a few nights ago but it didn't last. The kids were so happy and donned wellies, rushed outside and tried to play in it. Then they brought bits back inside to put in my freezer! That and the many pretty bits of ice they find. They'll be no food left in there soon, just collections of ice and snow

It really started to lay here, look at the depth on top of the wall
It would be nice to have a day or two of the real stuff, no more though because of the wildlife.

3 inches of snow here over night - which made driving up a steep hill to deal with some hung up trees an erm "interesting" experience

Well I would like to see a little in Foulness, it snows over the Crouch in Burnham and over the Thames in Kent but fails to drop any on us not many hills over here, the highest point is the Sea wall and that could be higher.

Thanks John and Eeyore, he'll be fine- just ashort stint for him he should be back in March - he's just told me his tent's flooded for the rain - he's very jealous of the snow!
mind you I expect the snow will be gone in the morning

you mean to say he hasnt got snow in afghanistan I thought it was like permanent up there

I hope it is all gone by morning , i had to go to work today for a staff meeting and mower delivery , so i drove in which took over an hour to do 25 miles in second gear much of the way - only to find that no one else was in so the meeting was cancelled and that my mower delivery was stuck on the M25 and was turning back

If it hasnt gone by tommorow - when I am building revetments on the thames I am going to sulk

The snow-elephant crtainly deserve to win but I wish we'd seen the snow-giraffe - the mind boggles.
