| | | Re: We've got SNOW! We had about an inch in an hour on Sunday night and got straight out and built a 4ft snowman on the front lawn Unfortunately, it didn't last and so the snowman is now only about 3ft , but we had a light dusting last night so he's hanging on in there. |

| | | Re: We've got SNOW! None here in this part of Lancashire but plenty of frost. The birds are all here never been away this morning.
Can't say I like snow now but loved it when I was younger, plus having worked outside most of the time it makes heavy going and work twice as hard - especially when it was a couple of feet deep.
There is a feeling of pure beauty when you have trekked up the side of a hill in virgin snow and you look around and no animal tracks, only yours, nothing has been this way for hours, and the silence that snow seems to bring, it happened occasionally and was a wonderful experience but more often than not the fox or deer had been, and that was a different scene knowing you are sharing with nature.
Enough of my ramblings - these are now in my head and not much done with the feet.
Carol.

| | | Re: We've got SNOW! It is a good omen - for the ski resorts I took the bus to college yesterday because my car does not handle well in the snow. At tea break I casually took the return bus ticket out of my pocket and put it in the bin. Later I heard the conservation work planned for the following day was not going due to the weather, so after college I waited in the snow for the bus. Boarding the bus and purchasing my one-way ticket home I took my seat and settled down to text the other volunteers to let them know the day of rhoddy-bashing was cancelled - and missed my stop! |

| | | Re: We've got SNOW! If only it had snowed couple of days ago and a bit more heavily I might have kept my fella from flying to Afganistan for a couple more days boooo still he won't have to put up with much in the way of snow over there at least! |
