We drove through Aberdeen off the Northlink Ferry travelling South on the 23rd. The ice on the Don was just breaking up and heading to be just like that but much bigger. Pity we had an appointment so could not stop to watch.
I wonder how long it will be before we see this agian.

is that a tidal section? looks like the ice you get in bays and inlets at the high latitudes North and South
