| | | Severe Weather Warning The Met Office is forecasting spells of very stormy weather across much of the country from 9pm Friday (tonight) into the New Year, with gusts of 80 m.p.h. expected in the worst-affected areas.
Scotland and Northern Ireland will see the worst of the weather, but Wales and parts of England will also see very squally weather with gusts of 60 m.p.h.
There is concern for New Years Eve, particularly over Northern Ireland and Scotland with further very strong winds forecast. The advice is to keep up-to-date with the weather forecast and travel information.
As well as strong winds the marked change in the weather will also bring periods of heavy rain and squally showers. |

Its been really blowy overnight, with heavy rain, although horizontal drizzle at the moment. Some of our outdoor Crimbo decs blew down in the night, and our electrical fencing in our field was tied in knots, but otherwise no damage considering how rough it was. Can't believe the change as it was a really lovely day here yesterday.
Supposed to be like this for rest of the hols now - typical! |

| | | Re: Severe Weather Warning Just been down to our local shop, a ferry has managed to get in and it was bedlam, it has taken me from 3.30pm to now to buy some potatoes I had been back twice. I think the islanders have been reading the severe weather forecast, i.e. high winds no food!!!!
PS my ex mother-in-law came from Cyprus so she only migrated in the summer months.

| | | Re: Severe Weather Warning Well tonight I have had cars hit huge puddles(lets call them lakes he he)and stop dead in front of me,I have seen lakes just in time to cross the road and cross in the shallows
The AA bless them parked on opposite sides of the road in a depression which forced/advised cars to slow up and drive on the diagonal through a huge lake
The rain is absolutely rude-ing down all the while, the final obstacle is a small dog a toy collie? racing around the road near a dual carriageway, being pursued by doglovers that have abandoned their cars I stopped (protective hazard lights on )and gave them some protection until the dog went past me ,ears to skull in absolute terror
all the while the rain is rude-ing it down
