I've seen a rainbow Sundog on a few occasions now.
The last one was the evening of the day before yours, on the 16th. It was ahead of the sun, (bad dog, hence the bad weather we've been having. The prediction came true. )
I snapped a pic of a rainbow sundog once but on viewing, it was hiding behind a lamp post. Most inconvenient.
The best pic I ever got is on my profile page Gallery. Sadly the 'good dog' was slightly out of shot to the left. Nevertheless, the sun itself was pretty unusual & made for a good pic.
There was an orangey/pink halo round the sun yesterday lunchtime before the torrential rain & that is caused by ice crystals in the air.

| | | Re: Strange rainbow effect in clouds Hi,
Nice photo! Unusual view of the sun. Mine looked more like the one in the Gallery by Words, although mine had thin clouds round it - it wasn't as good as that one. I'll be looking out more now. Our best views are out west across Rothersthorpe service station on the M1 so we do get some good sunsets, if somewhat urban!

| | | Re: Strange rainbow effect in clouds Circumzenithal arc - that's a new one, Jim!
Back in July on the 25th, I was watching this phenomenon above me in the village for 45 mins. Despite the clouds changing constantly, the arc remained stationary, increasing and decreasing in intensity. I was going to start a new thread but spotted this and thanks to your link, think I've identified them.
Good old WAB - another thing learnt.
Having failed with Lisa30's link, this Wiki entry explains HAARP for those with an enquiring mind. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Fr...search_Program
the co-ordinates link takes you to some pretty amazing stuff on G Earth.

| | | Re: Strange rainbow effect in clouds Great pics by the way. This is classic geo engineering and what the conspiricists call chemtrailing too. Although its now official. They are also conducting research into its effects on the environment. Interestingly Monsanto are now making GM Aluminium resistant seeds due to the high volumes of aluminium being pumped into the atmosphere (supposedly to reflect the sun!) Disturbing really. I hate to think of the long term effects of all these aerosols they spray into the sky are. Royal Society are monitoring it though and its effects on Alziemers so no need to panic!! Much |

| | | Re: Strange rainbow effect in clouds Lisa30, why do you think this (my two images presumably) is "classic geo engineering" and not an unusual natural phenomenon?
Who is pumping all this aluminium into the atmosphere? I thought the only aluminium used in aerosols were for underarm antiperspirant. |

| | | Re: Strange rainbow effect in clouds Hi, because ive spent the last 6 months researching it and thankfully im a researcher by trade. Ill post some links and let you decide as im sick of defending myself and others on the subject. No offence, im just trying to make people aware of whats going on over our very own heads. There is a ton of stuff on the internet. You just need to key in the right terms ie SRM SRM governance initiative - Policy Projects | Royal Society WHAT ARE CHEMTRAILS? the answer! UK DEFRA DOCUMENTS CLEARLY STATE USE OF AEROSOL!!! READ IT!!! GEO ENGINEERING UK, AEROSOL CRIMES, CHEMTRAILS, PARTICULATE MATTER, PERSISTANT CONTRAILS, STRATOSPHERIC, IONOSPHERE, TROPOSPHERE, GEO ENGINEERING, WEATHER http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratos...geoengineering) Aerosols paint clearer warming slowdown picture Simple Climate Why did the BC government repeal the Weather Modification Act ? | I'm Laila Yuile, And This Is How I See It
This next one is important, its an hour long but VERY informative if you dont find the american accent too cheesy. What in the World Are They Spraying? (Full Length) - YouTube
There are organisations worldwide trying to get this info out there, and i have spoken to many people that have lived in areas that this has been going on for longer than the UK that have had their blood checked for heavy metals and the aluminum content is off the charts. Many Doctors seem to know about it. Its not just aluminium either its Aluminum, Barium, Strontium in some parts of the world. There are a number of large facebook groups that share info and links if you want to delve further.
And this is for later when you wanna move onto the more scary stuff but look into Haarp and how it works first. US government takes down HAARP website to conceal evidence of US weather modification and earthquake inducing warfare. | PRESS Core – Evidentiary News, World News, Special Reports, Technology, Health, Videos, Polls, Free energy, Cures, War Crim

| | | Re: Strange rainbow effect in clouds If you're on a mission to educate people into the ways of HAARP etc., you shouldn't ever get sick of explaining and defending yourself, surely?
If people are following this thread with as much interest as I am, I'd be willing to wager that not many of them have ever heard of the things you mention.
Weather modification has come as a great surprise to me in the way you and your links describe it and I'm working through your links. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
