| | | Stair-rods The heavens have opened on Kent. My birdtables have been blown over and my other half and eldest are off to watch Charlton play. Hope the Gigrin gang have taken their wellies and mackintoshes!

| | | Re: Stair-rods We've got it coming down in bucketloads here too! My garden's turning to mush but it'll recover, and at least I can put off the final lawn mow... AGAIN.

I don't like this wind, I worry about the birds being blown about |

The wind here is reaching damaging levels with some frightening gusts. Can see a bit of fence repairing coming on!

| | | Re: Stair-rods Henrya, you need to move further north-east in the county. Around the Great Ouse is flooded and there is water lying in the fields near the Nene. Certainly the dykes mostly have water in them now. I remember you complaining of the lack of rain last year also.

Time and time again friends say "Wasn't the rain dreadful yesterday?" to which I reply "What rain?". I definitely didn't have a wet November.

| | | Re: Stair-rods Well, that was a lot of weather in one lump yesterday and last night here in East Kent! Very heavy rain, strong cold winds, enough sunshine for a good dogwalk on the Downs, then a night of 'is this going to be another hurricane?' Being up the side of a hill, the noise is amplified as the weather roars down the valley, but I feared for the birds, as trees were being flung about violently. Reminded me of Strictly Come Dancing! But this morning, after a late start, the birds are out there, bless them. I don't know how they survived that! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
