The UKMETO has issued an early warning of snow and blizzards for the 24/11/05 to 27/11/05
Higher percentage of disruption over the North UK and Eastern edge.

I'm hoping we will get some in the midlands. So far we are at 40% risk, where as the east and north is 70%.
The information is constantly changing though so you need to keep a lookout for changes. The weather station carries more specific weather info on the site if you are interested.

Definitely time to choose high energy bird foods, inc. the fatty varieties for the feeders. YUM YUM!
Now where did I put those snow chains for my Raleigh Striker (we couldn't afford a Grifter!)?...

Scotlands risk has increased to 80% following the update from METO today. Unfortunately though, the chance of snow across the east and the midlands has dropped slightly to 30% for the midlands and 60 % for the east coast

The local weather forecast (Cambridgeshire) has backed off from promising us snow, but about an hour ago the sky got very dark, the wind blew very strongly and the air was suddenly full of flying leaves. The wind has died down, just gusty now, and the sky has cleared a bit.

The levels for the risk of disruption changed drastically yesterday and today.
I think it's been really difficult to predict. Best suggestion is to keep updated by checking out either the METO or the weather station

Anyone wake up to snow this morning? Nothing here in Cheshire yet, but it's chilly, a bit frosty and there's increasing cloud cover, so fingers crossed. |

Interestingly enough we experienced exactly the same conditions yesterday afternoon as described earlier by henrya only about an hour sooner, it went very dark, the wind rose to near gale force & it pelted it down with hail & rain.
This continued for about half an hour then it just seemed to calm down & the sky cleared within minutes, the temperature then dropped dramatically - very weird  |

Very cold here too. Snow's on its way - I can taste it.
Mixed feelings about snow. Haven't had a really cold spell since I moved here, and I'm looking forward to seeing what these north winds blow down the coast (and taking some photos), but I'm not looking forward to my next gas bill.

I've just got back from my walk & I'm frozen.
The wind-chill factor here in Leicestershire is reported as being -9, feels more like -20!! so I can't imagine what it must feel like on the East coast.

Too right! I'm indoors working at the mo., but tomorrow...well, if 3 prs sox, thermal undies, 2 fleeces, Goretex outer, thermal hat, double layer gloves and a flask of tea don't keep me warm, i'm staying home! |
