Will be interesting to see how right or wrong I am! | Sorry Jez, but I hope you are NOT right. Hot, Hot, Hot, is very uncomfortable for some animals including many humans. Animals in a domestic situation ie. fenced in, caged etc, cannot get out of the heat like they would if they were loose, and I am not referring to neglect by humans here, even for instance cows in a field, no shelter from sun, horrendous worrying by flies, especially around their eyes,(Flies are looking for moisture), and etc.....I had a newborn foal brought to me to rear the last really hot summer we had, because his mother had died of heat exhaustion, she hadn't shown any signs of a problem the evening before when checked, but collapsed the following day.She was a very light coloured horse, and maybe lack of pigment didn't help. Anyway, the dear little chap joined our family of animals, was successfully reared, and eventually went to a lovely permanent home......... I personally find hot sun uncomfortable, but at least I can do something to protect myself, but Ponds dry up, and it's not only pondlife that suffers, EVERYTHING dries up and all things that need moisture suffer and/or die off, including flora and fauna. So wildlife that flourish in a temperate climate, ie, probably all of our british wildlife, will suffer during an abnormally hot summer. Also crops will suffer, and that's not good for obvious reasons. I could go on and on, but I think I've said enough. No, Jez, I for one do not want Hot, Hot, Hot....Posie.. |

| | | Re: Hot Summer 2010 Hot muggy days (& nights) are my personal hate. As long as there is a cooling breeze tho I can cope.
I'm more of a Spring & Autumn weather person.
