Early warning of severe gales

An early warning of severe gales has been issued today. Due to effect northern parts of the UK over the 11th and 12th November 2005.

Thanks for the warning Tamworth. I was planning to head over to the hills in Snowdonia at the weekend, but if the weather is going to be anything like what we've had in Cheshire for the past few days (v. strong winds and big downpours) then I'll give it a miss.

Flooding in Shrewsbury apparently. It always suffered when I lived there, same properties affected everytime so I hope they don't fare as badly from this flooding as it was always devastating.

I picked a rather stormy day last week to take the ferry over to France. All ferries were delayed by at least 4 hours due to adverse weather conditions in the channel. Fortunately, I am never travel sick.
