It amazes me that all these scientists can predict the weather for the next 30 years but the met office can't get the prediction right for the next 30 hours |

Earth systems are so complex, It's a wonder how anyone can predict anything!
Though the National Oceanography Centre found that the gulf stream was losing power by 30% in 2005, due to melting ice caps..due to higher average temperatures. If that has/does continue it would certainly explain Europe getting colder - dont know about Asia. |

The weather forecast from last week, when the big freeze began to take it's grip, was a fortnight of it. Met office had to downgrade the forecast last night.  |

I really don't think they could ever predict with much accuracy due to so many factors, here is Brockenhurst the weather can be beautiful and yet a couple of miles away on the Isle of Wight it is very often massive thunderstorms, somehow the island seems to attract freak weather, i have seen it so many times.
