Floods Today?

The met office don't have any warnings out as yet but some of the weather models are showing possible high rain rates from the Scottish borders south to the south Midlands for Tuesday. They seem fairly high and this is mostly due to Tropical Storm Grace (ex) and it's warm wet air approaching from the south west. Hopefully there wont be any major floods anywhere but looks like a day for umbrellas in those areas.

We had light drizzle most of the morning here in the southwest.
Not enough! Badly need some good heavy rain.
And I get to test me new wellies.

no rain up here in the north east for some time, need it for the field mushrooms, didn't find any worth having last time out.

Ooo - i hope not! Our home is being done up at the moment and we can't live in it while it's being done. However last time there was heavy rain there it nearly got swept away

The south/south east has had a bit of rain over the past couple of days, more forecast for today (7th) but we have escaped it for quite a while!

Appologies yes Indeed Wales as well - sorry I was writing the bit on weather stations when I noticed the met warning and now feel ashamed for missing wales - I'm a dead man with a few m8's for that one

The rain started here late last night just as I looged off and didn't stop all day, it was badly needed here though. It's been howlin a hoolie tonight too for about an hour but calmed down a bit now.

Good to idea to start a thread 5hort5, alot of us would miss it otherwise. Well till it's too late!

Thanks SusieBee, I think I got away with it today although the roads around Warrington were rather full of water. Looking at my stations stats we had 24mm of rain today which is a fair amount but nothing to much and the news reports don't have anything big to report so all looks good at the moment. I'm sure it wont be the last flood warning of the year but I hope it is

As situations start arisings through the winter and onwards I may post the odd teaser post for comment but nothing as sensationalist as the daily express but more as a prompt for conversation on possible weather coming up and I hope all will join in with input from their areas and opinions on what will happen.
