Re: really weird weather

Are your hatches battened? Strong winds and rain for the south west apparently, tonight, and then pretty poor weather countrywide tomorrow.

Yeah. It's like someone's running a really big hairdrier somewhere. Weird.

Re: really weird weather

It is so warm tonight, the wind has dropped and there is a bit of cloud cover so I've set up the moth trap in the hope that I might get something interesting turn up. Failing that I've got a bottle of red wine to keep me company. Cheers!

Re: really weird weather

Well I hope you have your traps ready for Saturday night, cos it is National Moth Night!

national moth night

Click on the link and you may find an event near you. I'll be out mothing with the Herts Moth Group at Bovingdon Brick Pits which I don't think is listed in the above link. I'll have to have a word with the boss as to why we aren't listed ... you just can't get the staff these days.

Herts Moth Group

And Mr Mag00, you are another moffer? Splendid

Re: really weird weather

In Yorkshire it was warm enough for me to be out clubbing without a coat last night and, after a few blasts, it's now calm and warm again. Hope it keeps up for a couple of weeks - but is it really strange to have warm Septembers? Is it just warmer/drier than August or than last Autumn? I think it's in line with the longer term temperatures?
Can't drink red wine - it gives me migraines - especially before breakfast .... but there are plenty of other beverages!

Re: really weird weather

This September reminds me of 2003, I don't think the last couple of years' Septembers have been quite like this.
