| | | Ball Lightning Just out of interest, has anyone seen it, i did only once years ago, it seemed to drop quite slowly, disappeared behind my neighbours hedge and presumably when it hit the ground there was a dull hollow thud and a fizzing hissing sound for a short while, that was all, no big flash bang or anything else, weird.
Of course i am only assuming it was ball lightning, there was a thunder storm at the time so i put it down to that.

Full details are here... Weather Eye: great ball of light strikes Wales - Times Online

| | | Re: Ball Lightning I saw a magnificent one 45yrs ago. I was watching tv during a thunder storm when opposite the house a huge one appeared. It stretched from the eaves of one house to another, at roof height. The inner circle was a beautiful pale cream the outer of which sparkled with blue electricity. Magnificent just isn't the word to describe it.
There was no noise.. no electrical crackling.. when it disappeared, it did just that, it vanished without any hesitation.
Its something I will never forget. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
